In January 2003, ICA began three six-year bridge asset management contracts with the Florida Department of Transportation for District Seven, District One North, and District One South. These contracts include the inspection, operation, maintenance, and emergency response for all of the state-owned and maintained bridges. These contracts include 42 moveable bridges, 2,479 fixed structures, and 770 culverts. Included responsibilities for the bascule bridges are the operation, maintenance, and repair of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, generator, and control systems for the bridges and tender houses.

The moveable bridges provide the access along the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway and between the Intracoastal and the Gulf of Mexico. The bridges are used by everyone visiting Clearwater, Saint Petersburg, Bradenton, Sarasota, Venice, and Ft. Myers beaches. ICA also inspects but does not maintain the local government bridges in both District One and Seven. The project was renewed in 2009 for an additional six years.
