The Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge—North America’s longest cable stay span at 1,546 feet—carries travelers on US-17 over the Cooper River between Charleston and Mount Pleasant South Carolina with eight traffic lanes and a bicycle/pedestrian lane overlooking Charleston Harbor. This contract includes the Ravenel Bridge System and six additional coastal bridges in Charleston, Berkeley and Beaufort Counties. The Ravenel is comprised of 18 bridge structures connected by 55 expansion joints and over 2700 drains. Annual average daily traffic on this section of Rt. 17 is 76,500 vehicles.

Services include management, inspection, maintenance, warranty protection and preservation. Maintenance includes sweeping, drainage systems, elevators and travelers, lighting and navigation lighting, fog mitigation system, ITS devices and trash removal.

The contract was renewed in 2011 for an additional 2 years.
