ICA provides complete asset management maintenance and inspection services to the Florida Department of Transportation for the Sunshine Skyway Bridge spanning the Tampa Bay. Soaring 175 feet above the water and at over 21,000 feet in length, the Skyway is one of the world’s longest concrete cable stayed bridges and truly one of the engineering wonders of the world. ICA’s six-year all encompassing multi-million dollar contract helps preserve one of Florida’s most high profile assets.
Some of the services provided by ICA for the bridge include regular inspection; drainage system maintenance; miscellaneous structural repairs; aviation, navigation and decorative lighting maintenance; debris removal; mechanical and electrical maintenance for elevators, generators, lightning suppression, motorist aid communications, and facility lighting; assistance with bridge security and emergency response.
This contract was renewed with additions to scope in July 2010 for an additional six years.
