ICA provided asset maintenance services for approximately 81 center-line miles of Florida’s Turnpike (Polk Parkway / Veterans Expressway/ Suncoast Parkway) running through Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando and Polk Counties in the Tampa Bay Area. A seven-year contract, the maintenance on this project included all routine maintenance of roadway and structures fence to fence, with the exception of toll facilities. The roads included in this contract were Polk Parkway, Suncoast Parkway and the Veterans Expressway.
The Veteran’s and Suncoast corridor serves as a major route for local commuters traveling into and out of Tampa. The Suncoast Parkway with its natural beauty and nature trail, named one of Florida’s scenic byways, is a showcase for the benefits of privatized maintenance. The Veteran’s Expressway provides access to the Tampa International Airport and connects travelers to East/West routes into downtown Tampa and to Clearwater.
